The Gathering of the Tribes will form part of Lopez Island's 4th of July Parade. The spirit of the Chicaoji will manifest in giant puppets and masks and follow the procession trail through the Village. A performance telling the Chicaoji creation myth will ensue.

The central aim of this community event is to get as many local kids (and parents) involved as possible. The project will involve making a range of giant puppets and masks from recycled materials that will form part of the parade as a walking troupe. Puppets, mask construction, and rehearsals are scheduled to start the week of 21^st June. Invention, creativity, imagination, spontaneity, exuberance and fun are going to be the key ingredients. Without giving too much away, the main plot of the performance will centre on a creation myth-like telling of the gathering of the Chicaoji tribes.
