THEN

There is a noticeable presence of birds encircling the Awesome Puppet world.  Birds, like all animals, we somehow know are messengers… In one of my early original stories, THE LAST BLUE SNOWFLAKE FLOWER, an elusive, brightly plumed, far-seeing bird is both messenger and guide and leads to the unlocking of the curse, which some regard as a metaphor of extinction… and there is a freeing up of the paralysis of sight and vision…

THE ENCHANTED HERON is a great bird of transformation, reminding us that we are the products rather than the victims of change… en-rapped rather than entrapped by the choices we make in the face of what we cannot know…

NOW

The irascible Raven is the inadvertent bringer of light in the well-known Haida creationist myth; here he becomes the transcendant, mischievous, and liberating alter-ego of Ganook, the repressive, rational, hoarding and selfish elements of our nature…

And waiting in the wings, there is the Birdman Myth of Easter Island where the frigate bird symbolises the redemptive potential of our imagination when we allow it expressive freedom in the face of extreme adversity…

Or the glittering eyed mariner with his lethal crossbow unravelling the flight of the mighty albatross...

Fabulous...love the way the site is a myth and a journey in itself rather than
something that is just looked at; the puppets are looking great too; very
atavistic...the puppet on the header looks as if it has real teeth which is a
lovely touch!

THE ENCHANTED HERON Really cranks my perceptions. Thanks
